This post is really just for those who have been to Europe before.
We are WICKED excited to announce that we are starting to plan a trip to Europe with two of our best friends, Jed and Jess! Here's what we have so far... We would like to stay for a minimum of 2 weeks, and we would like to do one of two trips: France, England, Scotland, Ireland, all those places up there, OR Italy, Spain, Greece, all those places down there.
After FaceTiming tonight with Jed and Jess, we threw around some really great ideas, but still don't know where we want to go.
With that said, we need advice.
Should we devote a whole 2 weeks to just one or two countries? If we do Italy, should we do the entire trip in Italy? Hostiles or hotels? European cruise or no? And so on.
To anyone who has been to Europe before, what tips can you give us? And obviously, we will research beyond the advice. But advice will give us a good place to start.
Just a thought: Mister Neil has been to Ireland and London....about 2 years worth. Miss Tamara has been to Germany, France, Switzerland, Denmark and Iceland. That's a little of Europe! Just don't let Neil know you if you go to Ireland. It's been his dream to go back, BIG DREAM!
ReplyDeleteWe might have some thoughts...............just sayin...........
snicker..........Love you!
Oh forgot....I love, love this photo!
ReplyDeleteKate: This is an my dream itinerary:
ReplyDeleteFirst fly to Shannon, Ireland and drive north to Galway and spend the night - don't miss spending time at the Cliffs of Moher. The Bed and Breakfasts throughout Ireland are (or were 30 + years ago) charming and generally cheaper than hotels.
Next day head south and drive the Ring of Kerry (taking pictures all the way) and spend the night Cork. Visit the Blarney Castle and kiss the Blarney Stone.
From Cork drive north towards Dublin. Great places to stop along the way are the Mount Melleray Monestary, the Waterford Crystal Factory in Waterford and the Rock of Cashel.
Spend at least a day in Dublin, exploring the sites. Although the Irish food is not much to talk about, Ryan can try a steak and kidney pie, a shepherd's pie, and don't miss some fresh fish and chips with malt vinegar on one of the warfs.
From Dublin, catch a ferry and sail to England. Hop a train and go to London. Spend 3-4 days in the London area and in the South of England.
From London take the Eurostar train through the Chunnel underneath the English Channel to Paris. 3- 4 days in Paris, with at least 2 days in the musee' du Louvre. Too much to list to visit in Paris, but if you have time get out into the countryside and visit some of the medieval castles, cathedrals and abbeys.
That would be my dream itinerary. Its fun even just to imagine.
